Explore Jaisalmer Fort
Begin your first day by exploring Jaisalmer Fort, the city's most recognisable landmark. Unlike many historic forts, Jaisalmer Fort remains a living part of the city, with homes, shops, temples and narrow streets inside its sandstone walls.
Walk through the fort with your guide and discover its historic architecture while seeing how local life continues within the old city.
Jain Temples
Inside the fort, visit the beautifully carved Jain Temples. Their detailed stonework and decorative interiors offer an insight into the religious and artistic traditions that developed in Jaisalmer.
Patwon Ki Haveli
Continue to Patwon Ki Haveli, one of the city's most impressive groups of historic merchant houses. Take time to look at the finely carved sandstone balconies, windows and façades that reflect the wealth and craftsmanship of Jaisalmer's trading families.
Lunch & Free Time
Take a break for lunch at a local restaurant. You can choose traditional Rajasthani food or other cuisine according to your preference.
Afternoon Drive to Sam Sand Dunes
After lunch, leave the city and travel towards Sam Sand Dunes.
The journey takes you through the open landscape of the Thar Desert. As you get closer to Sam, the scenery gradually changes from the built-up areas around Jaisalmer to wide stretches of sand and desert vegetation.
Enjoy Jeep Safari
On arrival, enjoy a 4×4 jeep safari across the dunes. The safari provides a more adventurous way to experience the desert and is particularly enjoyable in the late afternoon when temperatures begin to fall.
Experience Camel Ride & Sunset
Continue with a traditional camel ride before finding a suitable spot to watch the sunset.
The exact timing depends on the season, so the activity schedule may be adjusted to give you a comfortable opportunity to enjoy the evening light over the dunes.
Desert Evening
If you select a package that includes a desert camp experience, continue to the camp for Rajasthani folk music, traditional dance and dinner.
You can either stay overnight at the desert camp or return to Jaisalmer, depending on the package you choose.
Gadisar Lake
Start your second day with Gadisar Lake, a historic water reservoir surrounded by temples, shrines, chhatris and sandstone structures.
The area is generally more pleasant during the cooler morning hours and provides a quieter contrast to the busy streets of the old city.
Kuldhara Village
Continue to Kuldhara Village, an abandoned settlement outside Jaisalmer.
Explore the remaining buildings and streets while learning about the history and local stories associated with the village. The site also gives you a glimpse into the traditional settlement patterns of the Jaisalmer region.
Lunch
Stop for lunch before returning towards Jaisalmer.
Jaisalmer Local Markets
Back in the city, spend some time exploring the local markets. Depending on your interests, you can look for traditional textiles, handicrafts, leather products, jewellery and other Rajasthani souvenirs.
Shopping is completely optional, and you can simply enjoy walking through the old city's streets.
End of the Tour
At the end of your sightseeing, your private driver will drop you at your hotel, Jaisalmer Airport, railway station or another preferred location.
